북촌한옥마을 (Translated: Bukchon Hanok Village) + FOOD (Korea Trip 2013)

When in Korea, one must eat Barbecued Meat... It is a sin to leave Korea without eating it.
Looking at it makes me hungry for it again... Argh...

And when in Korea, one must learn how to cook Korean food...

Which is how I ended up with this plate of Korean Seafood Pancake with my brother. Strangely, it wasn't a disaster and was actually not too bad!

The Bukchon Hanok Village is actually a residential area with REAL PEOPLE living in the houses, so we had to make sure we weren't too noisy when we were there...

The rooftops and doors to some of the houses are traditional because Korean officials used to live in these houses. The houses were then passed on to future generations (and possibly sold).

I couldn't resist. The post box is too cute.

The view you get from the edge of the place! You can practically see the palace!

And I finally put my Korean Level 1 classes to good use when I ordered ddeokbokki (spicy rice cakes) for my family.
The Bukchon Hanok Village is actually somewhere where many Korean dramas were filmed, so you Korean Drama lovers out there should definitely add this to your must-see list when you visit! Another thing you drama buffs should note is that TV stations like sourcing around Seoul for places to film the various K Dramas, so I guess if you spend enough time in Seoul, you might just catch a glimpse of your favorite Korean actors filming!

For example, Personal Taste was filmed here. Yes, that's Lee Min Ho.
This is the first part of us in Seoul. Actually the next time we were in Seoul it was more shopping and less pictures, so...that's all I have for now!

We had to catch a flight to Jeju at the end of the day, so here's a picture on the plane! Yes I know its a selfie...

창덕궁 (Read: chang-deok-gung) (Korea Trip 2013)

For some bizarre reason, Google has decided it is good to add falling snow to this photo. I have no idea how this even happened.

When in Korea, you can't deny the beautifully crafted architecture of their palaces...

Even the doors and locks are pretty!!

The Cold Palace. The love story associated with this palace is amazing. Who would have thought that an emperor would choose to remain without an heir because he simply loved the palace maid who was exiled here and refused to be with any other woman. <3

Yes, Google has put it's voodoo on this picture as well...

That's my brother! In case anyone's wondering...

I simply couldn't resist taking selfies with the snow in the background! I think it makes all selfies look AMAZING! And while my Cassadee Pope-esque streaks of bright red only lasted the Korea trip (they're this orange-y color right now), I must say I love how bright they really looked under the sun!

There are SOOO many things I can tell you about this place because the Korean tour guide shared so much about this palace. Like the bridges, the animal statues and the different gates and their representations, but I think if I do so, this post would become some sort of post with all sorts of Korean history... (plus it would be too lengthy)

That's all I have for now! Till next time...

Resolutions

I don't like making resolutions. Mostly because they remind me of the many I've forgotten about and forsaken as the year goes by. But this year, let's just say I have some resolutions for myself...

1. Continue to be an amazing friend
I'll admit beforehand. I'll go missing, I'll have days where I don't wanna talk and I'll still be a pain in your ass. BUT, I want to continue to be the amazing friend I have been to you over the next year. Especially you D. I'll continue to push you into losing the bet (you WILL lose. hehe.), I'll forget to reply your messages, I'll nag and whine to you, but I promise I'll always be there for you when you need me my darling BFF.

I haven't been a very good friend in 2013. But I'll continue to be amazing to those who deserve it.

2. Read 500 books
This is the one resolution that scares me. I made it, and yet I'm still at ZERO on my count. Time to get cracking.

This resolution is here to remind me to read, read and read. Not just re-read. Be it romances or paranormal, there is so much to mine from books. I can't imagine the amount of general knowledge I've gotten from reading over the years and I continue to love reading.

With only two days of school and work the rest of the year, I'm setting a big goal for myself this time.

3. Exercise at least ONCE a week
HAHAHA. Being busy is the biggest excuse I have when it comes to exercising. The best workout I've given myself is probably when I go out shopping. I know, I know, NOT exercising is not a recipe for health, which is why I'm changing. When you start, you start small right? So I'm telling myself I'm going to exercise at least once a week regardless of the situation. (Unless I'm so gravely sick I can't exercise)

I'm already in my 20s. Figured it's time exercise came into the picture. And eventually, eating healthy.

So those are my 3 biggest resolutions. See. Reasonable-ish. Well, I'm not out making some huge statement on losing weight or getting my driver's license (which I still do not own) since some of them look stupid if I don't achieve them. So here you go.

happy new year darlings.
